A wood-based bedside lamp with a linen shade. The bulb is warm white, 2500-3000K, the same range as an old incandescent. Soft, slightly golden light. Not the blue-white glare most cheap LEDs put out.
Linen diffuses instead of aiming light at you, so there's no hot spot on the page. Bright enough to read by. Dim enough that it won't wake the person next to you.
It runs on 5V USB. Plug it into a wall adapter, a power strip, a laptop, or the USB port built into your nightstand. No transformer. No fat wall plug hogging both outlets. The bulb comes in the box, so there's nothing else to buy.
The solid wood base has enough weight that it won't tip when you reach past it in the dark. It reads as furniture, not as an accessory.
Two things to check before you order. It's USB powered, not battery powered, so it has to stay plugged in. Make sure there's a port near where you want it. And it isn't dimmable. One push button, on or off.
